How OPI calculates Quantity to Replenish

The Quantity to Replenish feature in One Page Inventory simplifies the restocking process by providing precise replenishment recommendations tailored to your inventory needs. Using a clear formula that incorporates Projected Sales, In-Stock Inventory, and Case Pack Adjustments, this tool helps you maintain optimal stock levels and avoid costly stock outs or overstock situations.

In this guide, we’ll delve into the Quantity to Replenish popup and the formula behind determining the optimal quantity for replenishing your inventory.

Replenishment Quantity

To determine the quantity to replenish, we consider your desired days of inventory coverage: “Days Required”, “Projected Sales” and “In Stock Units”. Showing the suggested replenishment quantity based on the calculations.

Note: You can click “edit” in the days required from here if making adjustments.

The Quantity to Replenish popup provides a comprehensive view of your stock status, ensuring you stay sufficiently stocked by considering the desired stock level and lead time, which is the duration from sending inventory from your warehouse to Amazon. The lead time coverage is obtained by multiplying the lead time by the velocity, adding an extra layer of precision to your replenishment strategy.

Adjusting for Customer Orders

To ensure accuracy, customer orders already placed are subtracted from the equation. This guarantees that your replenishment aligns with actual demand, excluding units already committed to customers. Combining all factors, the total replenish quantity is calculated.

Your settings and sales velocity play a crucial role in determining the quantity to replenish. Adjust your settings through the replenishment work mode and ensure accurate sales velocity input to tailor the replenishment strategy to your unique circumstances. While One Page Inventory provides accurate sales velocity data, it’s essential to fine-tune settings based on anomalies or specific sales situations not covered by basic settings.  By understanding these components, you can optimize your replenishment strategy and maintain an efficient inventory management process with One Page Inventory.
