What is the European Fulfillment Network (EFN)?
The European Fulfillment Network (EFN) is a service provided by Amazon that enables sellers to store their inventory in a single European fulfillment center while reaching customers across multiple European marketplaces.
Similar to North American Remote Fulfillment (NARF), EFN allows sellers to consolidate their inventory in one central location—typically in a country with favorable storage costs or efficient logistics. Amazon then handles the fulfillment of orders to customers throughout Europe. This approach reduces the need for multiple warehouses in different countries, simplifies inventory management, and helps minimize costs associated with shipping, storage, and customs.
As of January 2024, EFN covers the following countries:
- United Kingdom
- Germany
- France
- Italy
- Spain
- Poland
- Sweden
- The Netherlands
Benefits of Using EFN for Amazon Sellers
- Streamlined Inventory Management: By centralizing inventory in one fulfillment center, sellers can manage their stock more efficiently. This consolidation simplifies the coordination of inventory, allowing sellers to focus on optimizing stock levels and logistics strategies without the complexities of managing multiple storage locations.
- Cost Savings: Centralizing inventory in a single location helps lower various costs. Sellers benefit from reduced storage and handling fees compared to maintaining multiple warehouses. Additionally, by cutting down on cross-border shipments, EFN helps lower shipping costs and mitigate VAT complications, resulting in overall cost savings.
- Expanded Market Reach: EFN allows sellers to broaden their market presence across Europe without the need to stock inventory in each individual country. This broader reach enables sellers to tap into a larger customer base and enhance sales opportunities while maintaining a simplified inventory system.
- Simplified VAT Compliance: EFN simplifies VAT management by requiring sellers to register for VAT only in the country where their goods are stored. This reduces administrative burden and streamlines tax compliance.
Leveraging EFN with One Page Inventory (OPI) empowers Amazon sellers to optimize their European operations, reduce costs, and expand their market reach efficiently. With OPI’s comprehensive tools for inventory management, replenishment, and reporting, you can effectively manage your EFN inventory and make informed decisions to grow your business.
